Our President: Instigator-in-Chief

There aren’t many things our current president is good at, but inciting an entire race of people in the United States is one of them. His handling of Arizona’s SB1070 immigration bill has been completely irresponsible. Speaking about SB1070, Obama commented, “Now suddenly if you don’t have your papers, and you took your kid out to get ice cream, you’re going to get harassed – that’s something that could potentially happen.” He continued, “That’s not the right way to go.”

This is an amazing statement coming from the President of the United States, and here’s why: The new Arizona immigration law only allows law enforcement to verify the legal status of a person they arrest or detain while committing another crime. Taking your kid to the ice cream parlor is not a crime. Robbing an ice cream parlor is a crime. See the difference? Members of law enforcement, despite what liberals will tell you, are not allowed to randomly stop people on the street and ask for proof of citizenship. The bill simply allows Arizona to enforce federal immigration law, due to the lack of federal action in the state.

Because of Obama’s astounding overreach into state affairs, he has given legitimacy to the innumerable groups protesting the new Arizona law. He has lent credence to the cries of “Racist!” and “Nazi!” coming from the pro-illegal immigration groups in and out of the Grand Canyon State. He has exacerbated calls for boycotts, which affect ALL residents of Arizona – both legal and illegal. But this is not the first time Obama has stuck his nose where it didn’t belong.

Remember the Cambridge Police incident? A neighbor called 911 to report that two black men were breaking into the home next door. Sgt. James Crowley, a well-respected police officer in Cambridge, Massachusetts, responded to the call. When he arrived he found Professor Henry Gates inside the home. He asked Gates for identification, to make sure he was indeed the owner of the property. Gates refused to show identification, and said “This is what happens to black men in America.” President Obama, a friend of Professor Gates, said “the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home.” He continued, “(Gates) is a friend, so I may be a little biased here. I don’t know all the facts.” There are a lot of things President Barack Obama doesn’t know. Like this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, and this.

With Obama lending his voice to the pro-illegal immigration movement, he has bolstered groups like SEIU, Reform Immigration for America (RIFA), Hermandad Mexicana, Derechos Humanos, Humane Borders, and others who are known open-border advocates. Obama’s irresponsible actions as the leader of our country have thrown fuel on the fire. His comments have increased the cries of “Racist!” and “Nazi!” directed at people like Governor Jan Brewer and Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who are simply executing their sworn duty by protecting Arizonans.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Sheriff Joe this past Friday, at a Newsmakers Briefing moderated by the Nevada News Bureau. Arpaio spoke about how he has been elected sheriff of Maricopa County every four years for two decades, and is just trying to do his job. “I raided a business and we locked up 25 illegals for identity theft,” Arpaio said. He continued, “Nobody talks about, ‘Oh, sheriff, thank you, you got 25 people off the streets working in the workplace with phony IDs.’ No, I’m the bad guy because…they happen to be here illegally.” When speaking about the national security implications at the border, he mentioned that he caught five people from China. Arpaio believes they made it to the border by way of Cuba and Mexico City, but were headed for New York City. He claims that he has checked the legal status of 250,000 prisoners in his county, and found 34,000 of them to be here illegally. He also mentioned that during a traffic enforcement operation, over 100 cars were stopped in 15 hours, and 78 of them contained illegals. There is no doubt that illegal immigration is a problem in Arizona and the United States. Unfortunately, men like Sheriff Joe Arpaio are called “racist” for doing the job they were elected to do. I wish more people in government and law enforcement had the guts to actually ENFORCE our laws. Seventy percent of America supports SB1070-style state immigration laws. Are they all racists?

The sad reality is that liberals demonize and marginalize anyone who does not agree with their views. They paint people as racists and bigots, while attempting to undermine the very standards and values that make America great. They do not care about your safety, your freedom or your happiness. All they care about is furthering their liberal agenda, and conning more and more gullible Americans into voting for a Democratic Party, that has been hijacked by the extreme left-wing.

Sadly, our president is their leader.
