The 2010 Kansas City Tax Day Tea Party (brought to you by PoliticalChips.org)
This was a lot of fun.
I saw Rep. Todd Tiahrt (of Kansas 4th). He’s running for the U.S. Senate. He was interviewed by Darla Jaye from 980 KMBZ. I saw him talking with the crowd after his interview.
I also saw Nick Jordan, who’s running for the Kansas 3rd. I voted for him in 2008, but unfortunately Dennis Moore was re-elected. Moore is a yellow coward. He refused to speak with his own constituents. However, Jordan called me personally during his 2008 campaign. A candidate who talks/calls his would-be constituents speaks volumes to me.
Among the speakers were Kris Kobach (running for Kansas Secretary of State). He ran for the Kansas 3rd in 2004, but lost to Dennis Moore. He brought a early to mid 19th century metal ballot box. He talked about major voter fraud in territorial Kansas in the 1854 election. About 2100 people were registered to vote in the territory, but many came from Missouri to vote fraudulently. They found ~6,000 ballots in that box.
President Obama’s second cousin, Dr. Milton Wolfe of Shawnee, Kansas, was there too. He laid it into his own cousin about that atrocity of a health care bill.
Then, Darla Jaye had all veterans come out to the field while someone sang “God Bless America” and Ms. Hutchins sang our national anthem. Then we watched presentation of those who served in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf and elsewhere. I was just speechless after that.
Apostle Claver was the keynote speaker. I was just blown away by him.
